THREEFOLD INCREASE OVER A YEAR: HOW KAZAKHSTAN EXPANDED ITS TITR SHIPMENTS
2.8 million tons of cargo were transported using the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) in 2023, which marks a 65% increase compared to 2022.
In 2024, TITR is expected to service another 4 million tons of cargo transportations.
The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev noted at the extended meeting of the board that export volume of Kazakhstan-produced items via the TMTM has increased 2.5 times.
“Along with exports, there is an increase in import cargo traffic. And this indicates that European companies are interested in TITR,” the minister emphasized.
In 2023, the total volume of transportations through seaports reached 7.2 million tons, which is 11% more than the year before. This year, the figure is expected to surpass 9 million tons. Export shipments of Kazakhstan-produced goods to European countries is the primary direction.
